We had a pretty quiet New Years Eve. We stayed home with the kids, ordered pizza, had a few drinks, and then our neighbors, Ray and Sharon came over for a while to just hang out. We talked them into trying out a game of bowling on the wii and I think they liked it. We are addicted. They left around midnight and after ringing in the new year, Duke and I had to try out his Cabelas Big Game Hunt game on the wii. It is kind of tough!
This morning, the kids were up bright and early. Grant and I were sitting at the kitchen table and I spotted a pileated woodpecker out the kitchen window. After I pointed it out to him, I told him to go wake his Dad up and tell him that we just saw a pileated woodpecker. He said, "okay" and ran it to the room yelling, "Hey Daddy, me and Mommy just saw a pilli-willi-winkle woodpicker!" I am tellin' ya, that kid is a hoot! He pretty much made my morning :)
I will just share a few random pictures of my silly little monkeys...
I keep thinking Grant is getting so big, but here he is trying on one of my sweatshirts and he is swimming in it. He is still my little bubba!
Then, the other night we set up his hot wheels loop-de-loop race track, each picked our car to race and then had a competition.
Here is the count-down...5-4-3-2-1....
Wow, look at it go!

And then I got the old, "You're a loooooserrrrrr!"

And then nah-nah-na-nah-nah with a little booty shake!

And if adding insult to injury wasn't enough, then he told me that I could use his car next time so I wouldn't lose again! Somewhat thoughtful, but still...what a little stinker!

Speaking of stinkers...her is Tootie trying on Daddy's ear phone thingys (what is the technical name for those anyway????)

Next, I am not sure where she found these, but she seemed very interested in them.

A little too interested if you ask me. She was trying to put them on her head! No, sweetie, those are underwear, not a hat!

But Mom, they fit so well! Lets just hope those were taken our of the drawer and not the dirty clothes basket! You all know how well 3 year old wipe!!!!

And this last picture looks so sweet...could that be a little Oreo or chocolate on her mouth. NO, not my little devil child. She was eating DIRT out of one of my plants! Naughty little monkey!

Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful start to the new year. I know the Kleman house is really looking forward to all that 2009 has to offer. For those of you who have not heard yet, Duke got a new job as a teacher in the Marine and Small Engine program at Alexandria Technical College. He will of course be teaching the motorcycle and ATV portion of the program. He is very much looking forward to this new adventure. His last day at Precision is tomorrow so I am sure it will be an emotional day for him since he has worked there most of his career.
