This is Evan, my cousin who spent the night last Saturday. It was his first "official" sleepover. As I said in an earlier post, my Aunt Kala and her daughter Olivia are in France this week and I think this is the longest Kala has been away from Evan so I thought it would be nice to share the fun we had by having Evan over!
The boys jumped right into playing the wii. I think the played all of Grant's games, but not really for any length of time because it was more fun to make me change games over and over.

Grant gets pretty serious when he is playing Speed Racer too. He is getting really good at all of the games. I just can't believe how well a 4 year old can manipulate these games.

Evan was more in to playing games and doing activities so of course we had to play a good old fashioned, extremely loud game of Hungry Hungry Hippos!

When I say loud...I mean REALLY LOUD. That is because Grant felt the need to blow his police whistle the entire time! By the end I was about ready to rip his lips off!
And Little Miss Toot Butt really got a kick out of making a racket with her pink hippo!
Evan's most favorite thing to play was pirates. He found the hat, the sword, the eye patch, the hook and the whole 9 yards!
Then, as I am sure you guessed came some swash-buckling action!
I had to take away the fake metal sword and replace it with the blow-up one from Space Aliens. That was much safer because they got pretty physical with each other!
Surprisingly there were no big fights. Just a couple of minor spats over toys that the other wanted to play with. You know...the whole sharing thing. All goes out the window when there is direct competition!

After they both ate a good lunch, I put in a movie and told them they had to have quiet time for a while. It got REALLY quiet. You know the kind of quiet that happened when they are up to something naughty. I decided it best that I go out to check and make sure everything was okay and this is what I saw...
Grant was out like a light, and leaning on Evan none the less!
Evan was just happily watching Pooh's Big Adventure while the Punk was busy sawing logs!
It is so funny because it doesn't even seem to phase Evan. I think he even took advantage of Grant's comatose state and ate Grant's Cheese-Its too!
This is Trixie kitten's new favorite place to nap...in Audrey's rocking chair.
While the boys were quiet, Audrey snuck in a little kitty playing time. Well, Audrey was playing, and the kitty was busy eating. She LOVES her new kitty!
We ordered pizza for supper and when it arrived, Evan and I tried to wake Mr. Sleep Pants from his slumber but he was slow to wake. Then it was time for BATMAN jimmer jammers! The boys were so excited to both have Batman jammies WITH capes! They got pretty jazzed up once they were in their superhero attire and out came the swords again!

They pretty much pummeled each other until their faces were beat red! Not hurting each other, just tired from running around so long.

They were giggling and had grins from ear to ear the entire time. No one ever cried or got hurt. Just some good old fashioned rough-housing!

They did want to keep hitting each other over the head with the blow-up sword so I said that one had to wear the football helmet while the other beat them They thought that was hilarious!
When I decided that was enough beating, and took the sword away they turned the battle into a WWF match. First Evan got best of Grant. He took him down from behind and Grant never knew what hit him! He deserved every minute of it since he has given Evan his fair share of tackles and blows!
The Punk finally wriggled his way out from underneath and gave Evan a little what for!

It makes me so happy that we live close enough for them to get to play together. Since they are only 2 weeks apart in age it will be fun to watch how they change and grow.

In an attempt to try to get them to settle down, I had to separate them a bit and I distracted them by having them tell Knock-Knock jokes to each other. My was that interesting! They barely made sense but the kids sure got a kick out of it!

I love the poses in this. Grant and Audrey look like they are listening so intently. I am sure Even said something extremely profound that made them both sit so still and listen!

These last two pictures turned out really good. It shows just how good of buddies these two are.

So sweet now...just makes me wonder how much trouble these two will be getting into when they are teenagers! Yikes!!!

Kala and Olivia - I hope you guys are having a great time and I hope this post makes you feel "not so far away".
Nighty-night!

Hi Carrie.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pictures. I'm glad Evan had so much fun at your house. I miss him so much. I got to talk to him the other night and even saw him on the web cam. He asked me if the plane bringing me back could just land in our back yard instead of at the airport. That would be something! Love you, thanks for looking after my little guy. Kala
