Snow Golf Tourney 2009

I know I mentioned it a few weeks ago, and I am finally getting to the post...These pictures are from the beginning of March at our friends Todd and Sheri's annual Snow Golf Tournament. Snow golf you say? Yes! Exactly what it sounds like...real clubs, real balls, and a course complete with trees, holes, flags and water hazards...and it's held on a frozen lake! I'm tellin' ya...only in MN!! We had the kids with us so we didn't actually participate in the golf portion but we did follow a couple of groups and watch the shenanigans! Things went down the pot right from the start...the toilet tee that is!

Here is Krissy getting ready for her tee-off. We'll just say the whole round started off "shitty" :)

Or maybe it was Angie that was stinkin' the place up!?!

Check out that form!
This is Angie's hubby, Jordan, giving it his best shot. Don't you find it ironic that there is a Port-a potty in the background! HA!
Grant even thought the toilet tee's were funny and had to give'em a try. I say teeS because there were two...one for lefty's and one for righty's! They thought of everything. The also marked the course's fairways (plowed areas) with little pine trees. You can see them in the background. There must have been hundreds of them! I can truly not believe all of the work they put into this event every year. Kudos to them!

This is our good friend Dave. He was just along for the "ride" also. We piled him, Duke the kids and I all on the 4-wheeler to cruise around the course...SLOWLY of course!

This is Kris and Keith. If you've been following for a while..they are our Wii bowling friends. Now that they have bought their own we don't see them near as often. They must be practicing up...well keep practicing!

Daddy was having fun showing off his little princess.

And Mommy was loving spending a warm spring day with her favorite little man.

Looks a little different playing golf in the snow and using 4-wheelers instead of golf carts!

But it sure was fun! Next year we'll probably leave the kids at home and enjoy some golf ourselves.

The whole family had such a good time together that day. Makes me smile just thinking about it :)

And then there was Kelly...enough said!

Here is Mark feeling right at home...on the toilet! I think he is enjoying it more that it was intended for!

Finally! He swings! ...didn't go very far anyway!
Tootie was having a blast spending the day outside and watching everyone be goofy!

Oh, and she was held all day so she was in 7th heaven!

More entertainment...This is Johnny Evans aka Happy Gilmore!
It seriously took him 4 swings to actually hit the ball and when he finally made contact...lets just say there was no need to get on the 4-wheeler to get to it!

Towards the end of the day the kids were getting tired and we finally figured out how handy it was to strap the car seat on the back of the 4-wheeler for Toots. She thought that was soooo cool and it gave Mommy and Daddy's arms a much needed rest! She even took a mini-nap in there too!
As snug as a bug in a rug!

I ♥ Faces Week 12 - "Pouting" and "Animals"

This weeks I ♥ Faces theme is "Pouting" Sounds easy, but I couldn't really find a true, lip sticking out, pouting pictures. I did think of this picture right away though. Audrey doesn't pout per say...she goes straight to the crocodile tears! In this picture she was mad at her brother for taking her blankie. She was pretty T'd off to say the least! And when that happens, in goes the nukie too.

This week, I ♥ Faces also has an "Anything Goes" pet category. Of course, I have to honor the memory of our beloved Gibber Gabbers (Gabby) who just passed away last month.
This was also one of my first pictures I took with my new DSLR. I was sitting on the couch playing with all of the settings and taking pictures around the room when Gibbers popped her head up to see what all of the ruckus was. Now I am really glad that I got this picture. You can also see the spot that began forming in her eye about a year and a half ago. I truly think it appeared when she started getting sick with kidney problems. I'm not a vet so I guess it is just speculation. Either way, when I look at this picture all of the memories and emotion comes flooding back.

at home with miss sassy pants

I'm thinkin' Little Miss Toots is feeling a little left out since Grant seems to have been dominating the post's lately. Well, this one is dedicated to my little girly-girl.
Pretty much the minute we walk in the door and take our coats and shoes off, Tootie runs over to her booster chair and wants her evening snack...and when I say evening I mean it lasts ALLLLL evening. She eats her snack right through dinner time! Okay, so maybe it is she just has a 3 hour long dinner and just eats it in shifts. However you slice it (ha...pun intended!) she eats practically from the time we get home until bed time. Good thing she goes to bed rather early or we might be enrolling her on Biggest Loser - Baby Edition!
Here is the jist of how it goes from Tootie's perspective...

MaMa....up!

I'm waaaaiting!

Com'on! I don't have all day! Can't you see I am starving here! UP already!

Fine, I will just get it myself. Hmmmm, how bout some aminal crackers!

Yep, aminal crackers it is! (YES, I spelled it wrong on purpose)

Audrey is also starting to enjoy trying things on. I know, I know...don't get her started too early. BUT it is just waaaayy too much fun. We can spend a half hour trying on different bows in her hair. I have gotta get some pictures of that to share. These are of her trying on some glasses. I think she was kinda digging this pair. BUT... the ensemble is missing something.

No, not clothes....a nukie! An upside-down nukie, but a nukie none-the-less.

Such a silly little dumplin'.

Oh, and she loves to crank the tunes and do the diaper dance and the booty shake in her room after her bath and before jammies.

She thinks she is pretty funny!

Ohhh...is Baby Toot tired?

NOPE! Just foolin' ya!

I wonder how a picture would look without that big nukie in your mouth? NOPE again. Definitely NOT diggin' that idea!

Ahhhhhhhhhhh...much better! Isn't that just pitiful? Red eyes and all. Okay, I am just a mean Mama to do that to her. Naughty Mommy!

I must have been REALLY mean, cause look how blood shot her eyes got in this picture. Those blue glasses wouldn't even cover them up!

I am headin' for the shed. Big day tomorrow. Gonna be a cowgirl! (Don't ask...and I promise you will see pictures!)
Toodle-oo!

Slumber Party Beat-Down!

This is Evan, my cousin who spent the night last Saturday. It was his first "official" sleepover. As I said in an earlier post, my Aunt Kala and her daughter Olivia are in France this week and I think this is the longest Kala has been away from Evan so I thought it would be nice to share the fun we had by having Evan over!
The boys jumped right into playing the wii. I think the played all of Grant's games, but not really for any length of time because it was more fun to make me change games over and over.

Grant gets pretty serious when he is playing Speed Racer too. He is getting really good at all of the games. I just can't believe how well a 4 year old can manipulate these games.
Evan was more in to playing games and doing activities so of course we had to play a good old fashioned, extremely loud game of Hungry Hungry Hippos!
When I say loud...I mean REALLY LOUD. That is because Grant felt the need to blow his police whistle the entire time! By the end I was about ready to rip his lips off!
And Little Miss Toot Butt really got a kick out of making a racket with her pink hippo!

Evan's most favorite thing to play was pirates. He found the hat, the sword, the eye patch, the hook and the whole 9 yards!
Then, as I am sure you guessed came some swash-buckling action!
I had to take away the fake metal sword and replace it with the blow-up one from Space Aliens. That was much safer because they got pretty physical with each other!
Surprisingly there were no big fights. Just a couple of minor spats over toys that the other wanted to play with. You know...the whole sharing thing. All goes out the window when there is direct competition!
After they both ate a good lunch, I put in a movie and told them they had to have quiet time for a while. It got REALLY quiet. You know the kind of quiet that happened when they are up to something naughty. I decided it best that I go out to check and make sure everything was okay and this is what I saw...
Grant was out like a light, and leaning on Evan none the less!
Evan was just happily watching Pooh's Big Adventure while the Punk was busy sawing logs!
It is so funny because it doesn't even seem to phase Evan. I think he even took advantage of Grant's comatose state and ate Grant's Cheese-Its too!

This is Trixie kitten's new favorite place to nap...in Audrey's rocking chair.
While the boys were quiet, Audrey snuck in a little kitty playing time. Well, Audrey was playing, and the kitty was busy eating. She LOVES her new kitty!
We ordered pizza for supper and when it arrived, Evan and I tried to wake Mr. Sleep Pants from his slumber but he was slow to wake. Then it was time for BATMAN jimmer jammers! The boys were so excited to both have Batman jammies WITH capes! They got pretty jazzed up once they were in their superhero attire and out came the swords again!

They pretty much pummeled each other until their faces were beat red! Not hurting each other, just tired from running around so long.

They were giggling and had grins from ear to ear the entire time. No one ever cried or got hurt. Just some good old fashioned rough-housing!
They did want to keep hitting each other over the head with the blow-up sword so I said that one had to wear the football helmet while the other beat them They thought that was hilarious!

I love this one of Grant chasing Evan down. The smiles on their faces says it all!

When I decided that was enough beating, and took the sword away they turned the battle into a WWF match. First Evan got best of Grant. He took him down from behind and Grant never knew what hit him! He deserved every minute of it since he has given Evan his fair share of tackles and blows!

The Punk finally wriggled his way out from underneath and gave Evan a little what for!

It makes me so happy that we live close enough for them to get to play together. Since they are only 2 weeks apart in age it will be fun to watch how they change and grow.

In an attempt to try to get them to settle down, I had to separate them a bit and I distracted them by having them tell Knock-Knock jokes to each other. My was that interesting! They barely made sense but the kids sure got a kick out of it!

I love the poses in this. Grant and Audrey look like they are listening so intently. I am sure Even said something extremely profound that made them both sit so still and listen!

These last two pictures turned out really good. It shows just how good of buddies these two are.

So sweet now...just makes me wonder how much trouble these two will be getting into when they are teenagers! Yikes!!!
Kala and Olivia - I hope you guys are having a great time and I hope this post makes you feel "not so far away".
Nighty-night!
