Good Clean Fun!

Time for some good clean fun! One of my favorite parts of the day is bath time. It is always a good bonding time for myself and the kids. Instead of a chore, we make sure bath time is full of fun and playfulness...just not too much splashing although when the floor gets wet, it forces me to wipe it up which is probably a good thing, right!?
I am going to share a few of my favorite bath time pictures of both kids, but I realized I had some pretty funny ones of Audrey from the end of August that I just have to share also. I will do that in another post since my brother said my posts sometimes get too long. Well, phooey on him!
This first pic was taken when Audrey turned 9 months. Since I usually do the dishes after I get Audrey to bed, she rarely ever gets to take a sink bath. I guess I must have been ambitious this particular evening!
Isn't she a little Dumplin'?
Then, there is my little man who loves to pretend to "shave" while in the tub. We make funny soap foam faces and he "shaves" them off. Here is the most recent one. Maybe some time I will share some other faces we have created.

Grant also often tends to annoy his little sister in the tub...and everywhere else for that matter. He always has to be touching, poking, squeezing, stealing her toys, nuk, etc and as you can see by her face, she is not happy with him! She will do whatever it takes to protect her coveted squirty stars!
But how could she be mad at a face like this?
I think he just got yelled at for splashing his sister in the face in this picture. Can you see the little shyster (never tried to spell that before) coming out in him?
And then there is little Tootie's obsession with sticking out her tongue. This weekend my sister-in-law suggested that I dress her up as Gene Simmons from Kiss for Halloween. Tempting, but I think she will make a better lamb.

And isn't this picture of Grant cool? He was laying back in the water and I just happened to get this shot of him spitting the water straight up.

I also love this next sequence of pics of Audrey. She had just discovered the faucet this day and was fascinated with the water coming out. The pictures can probably tell the story of how this went better than I...

And then after every bath, I wrap Audrey up in her froggy towel and she scrambles to get her hands unwrapped so that she can wave to the "baby" in the mirror. It is actually really cute and I am going to miss when she stops wanting to do that.
And it wouldn't be a complete bath time without a tandem mini 4-wheeler ride around the living room before it is time to put on the jimmer jammers!

Speaking of jimmer jammers...I better hit the hay. Duke is gone elk hunting so I am flying solo and it is a big change for me to have to get up extra early to get the kids up, ready and off to daycare. I guess I am kind of spoiled because Duke always gets that leg of the race. What a saint he is! Wouldn't trade him for the world.

Oh, Oh, Oh...O-R-E-O!

So this is the post that I have been so anxious to get done! I took these pictures about 3 weeks ago and while I was taking some pictures later on that night, I took one that didn't turn out so I chose "delete all pictures on card" instead of "delete single image". Ooops! Well, after a panic attack and a few tears I decided to call my computer wizard uncle, Russ who by chance owns Minco (so if you ever need a new computer, Mac, accessories or repair work you should really call there). He calmed my nerves by telling me that he had some data recovery software that would probably retrieve the deleted pictures...and walla! He got them back to me as good as new! So now I will share with you Audrey's first Oreo cookie experience...

And look at the little dolly here..she is even willing to share her prize!

Yum, these cookies are good...why you been holdin' out on me Mom?

I just love how she always has to hook her feet on the bottom of her high chair tray. She is getting so big now.

Mmmm...just like KFC, finger lickin' good!!!

And of course Grant had to join the fun. So he assumed his favorite position...sitting right on top of the counter. Say "cheese"...I mean say "OOreo"!

Oh, yeah...and you can't forget a glass of milk for dunkin'.
Then, when the cookie is all soft and drippy, Grant feels the need to attempt to get the entire thing in his mouth at once so as to not make a mess, of course.
Okay, so that strategy doesn't always work because we ended up with a messy face...
...messy hands...

...and even messy clothes!

But we also ended up with one happy kid!
Ahhh...the magic of an Oreo!
In the mean time, Little Miss Toot was enjoying her Oreo...a little too much as it appears!
So this is how the story goes...First, you need to smear your tray...
...and then your face...
...then a little nose pick for good measure!

How could one little Oreo cover a baby from head to toe?
And then from Tootie's perspective...What have I done? That was fun, but sooner or later I am going to have to face the dreaded washcloth!
Oh yeah, I almost forgot...Mom said it is bath night so maybe I won't have to get the washcloth torture treatment...
Oh, phooey! She is gonna wipe me off anyway!

Maybe, just maybe if I stick my tongue out and look cute enough I can still avoid it...

I guess you'll just have to stay tuned for the next post to see what happens!

The Martians Have Landed...

The martians have landed...or at least that is what it looked like in my driveway the other evening when I waked outside. A little photo editing and you can make childhood chalk-work look like something left behind after the last extraterrestrial encounter!

Can you believe a 3 1/2 year old constructed this all by himself??? What an imagination he has!! Grant was outside "helping" his dad when he decided to sit down and draw what is supposed to be our family...extended of course! Here are a couple of pictures of little Picasso himself!

Maybe it is just me, but I just think this is the coolest little drawing! And apparently this is what you wear when you are under invasion by martians! And look at poor little unsuspecting Tootie in the background. Didn't anyone tell her she needed to have a "team shirt" and snorkeling gear to survive the attack???

Speaking of Tootie...she has been getting quite sassy in her old age. She is now 11 months old and has the attitude of an angry gorilla! She is the MOST DIFFICULT baby to get dressed or changed. She actually fights you and screams at you the entire time. This week she was also refusing to drink any formula! What??? Not sure how that came about, but she would hit away the bottle or sippy cup and didn't even want her bottle before bed. The last two nights she has been her snuggly little bottle suckin' self before bed, so Mom is happy now and not worried that my chubby little girl will shrivel up into a little prune...and I say prune because that is the color that would be left after all of the blueberries she eats. LOVES THEM! She actually pants and waves her arms when she sees the container. Hey, at least they are good for her! I better attach at least one picture of her before I head to bed. Notice the bow in her hair! Grandma Sue found some Velcro bows that stay in better than most others. Thanks Grandma Sue!

Stay tuned...I have some more fun posts. I have a bath time one (or two because I have lots of bath pictures too) and an Oreo cookie one, plus I have a million of older pictures that I can always share and I am always taking more! Have I ever told you that I love digital pictures!?!
