Behind (Easter Edition)

A little behind on getting my Easter pics up...sorry!
On Saturday, we headed up to Duke's parents house to hang out, spend the night and celebrate Easter day with his entire family. The kids made sure to bring long their Easter baskets and the Easter bunny made sure to find them at Grandma and Grandpa's and stuffed their baskets full!
The kids were up much too late on Saturday night and up much too early on Sunday morning, and Audrey was up throughout the night with a low grade fever so needless to say, Mama was a bit tired on Sunday.
But that didn't stop us from having a fun day with family and enjoying wayyyyy too much food.
(This is our 6 1/2 year old niece, Emily...don't you love her 4 missing front teeth and the messy bed-head!?)
Audrey did sneak in a little late morning nap before the rest of the crew arrived for the big Easter meal.
I couldn't resist her adorable little sleepy self.
While Audrey was sleeping, Grant helped Grandpa clean weeds off the beach and then helped Grandma with a little last minute clean-up.
For some reason, I missed the rest of the inside action but made sure to grab my camera for the big Easter egg hunt.
This is where more of the 'behind' theme comes from. The kids were off and running so fast, hunting for their eggs, that almost all of the pictures I got were from behind.
Okay, I did manage to get a few from the front, but Audrey was so into the hunt that she would not stop to flash me a smile or pose for me in her adorable little outfit.
She was inspecting her egg to make sure that it was one of 'her' eggs with a smiley face on it.
Grant had sports ball eggs to find.
And Emily's were metallic ones.
This picture cracks me up...when taking it I didn't even notice Audrey in the background trying to reach one of her eggs!
What a mean Mommy! I probably should have made sure that hers were a little more on her level, huh?!!
Each kid had 8 eggs filled with change to find but poor Emily only found 7 of hers and I am terrible at remembering where I hide them so I wasn't much of a help.
Sorry for so many pics, but I just couldn't help myself with the kids all dressed up and the water looking so blue.
I also couldn't get enough of that silly little toothless smile either.
These next four are the only posed shots I could get the kids to stand still for.
The kids were stuck in 'cheese' mode so I didn't bet much for natural smiles but I still think a few of these are pretty cute.
Since saying 'cheese' wasn't working so well, I told them to smile like I had just said something really funny.
My, does Grant follow directions well!!!!! Just call him Chuckles!

Spongebob Intervention

I fear that the time has come for a serious Spongebob Intervention!

A little someone, who shall remain nameless...

(hint, hint)
...has developed a minor addiction to watching Spongebob (specifically the 'Ripped Pants' episode) while lying in her blow up princess bed in her room. (And yes, she has a real bed, but just prefers to sleep on her blow up bed occasionally.) And this request often comes multiple times in a day.
Okay, well maybe it is a little more than a minor addiction. One of the first things she asks me when she gets home is if she can put on her jammies and then says 'Me watch Spongebobby Whipped Pants'. I know someday I am so going to miss her using 'me' instead of 'I' but for now I refuse to correct her because I think it is so stinkin' cute! So I digress...
Back to the intervention...Her other obsession is obviously sleeping in her princess blow-up bed. These pics were from last weekend when she wanted to take a nappy in her room and watch a little Spongebobby first. I couldn't help myself from snapping couple of pics of her adorable little sleepy self.
So what do you think? Does this addiction warrant an intervention with a 2 1/2 year old Spongebob addict? Or should I just relish in the 20 minutes of rest my hip gets from holding her??? That is one tough question!

Hipp-ety, Hop-ety, Happy Easter!

Since our daycare was off for the Good Friday holiday, I got to stay home with my two little munchkins. It was so nice to sleep in till 7 (ha ha ha...I find it funny that 7 is now sleeping in for me!)
We were lazy-heady-daisys for a good part of the day. We (okay I) didn't get out of my jimmer jammers until 2 pm! After Audrey woke up from her nap, we headed outside and I worked on cleaning out my flower gardens. As much as I love my flower gardens, I hate cleaning them out in the spring. Maybe I would be more enthusiastic if our wheel barrow didn't always have a flat tire. But that is beside the point!
Next, we went out to our new land to stake out the shed that we will be having built soon. (That is a whole nother story that will be coming in an future post.) Then we went up to the little grocery store in town to pick up some eggs to color.
After dinner, we got our egg coloring production all set up and ready to go. There were 6 food coloring tablets so each kid got to drop in 3 tablets.
Due to me over estimating a 2 year olds ability to follow directions, we ended up with 3 tablets in one cup so I had to quickly rescue them and try to get them into their own separate cups. Needless to say our yellow was no longer 'yellow' but more yellowish-greenish-orangeish. The look of guilt on Audrey's face says it all.
After the little misunderstanding, we were off and running with the egg coloring.
Grant held the title of the official egg-scooper-outer.
And Audrey was busy watching in wonder and making super cheezy faces every time I told her to look at me and smile.
I mean, seriously! This is what I got every time I said, 'Audrey, look at me and smile.'
This one was even worse...instead of smiling she started snorting! Lovely.

This was the first time that I had put more than 2 piggies in Tootie's hair and I just couldn't get enough of taking pictures of the extreme cuteness.
Once all of the eggs were dipped and colored we had to wait for them to dry so they could paint, sticker and glitter them. Audrey was trying to blow on them to get them to dry faster!
And on to even more decorating. The kids really had a blast having so much freedom to decorate how they pleased.
We will be spending Easter Day with Duke's family up at the lake and hopefully the weather will be nice enough so we can have an outside Easter Egg hunt. Wishing all a very blessed Easter.
