Kinda liked the green font color, but gonna give dirty orange a try...
Well hellooooooo... Not too much excitement around here the last couple of days. Just a little grocery shopping and picking up of the house. Nothing new in Mom-land! Speaking of motherly duties, I think my least favorite is laundry. With two filthy little piglets and a husband who feels the need to take 2 showers a day, I feel like I am constantly digging out from underneath a pile of dirrteee clothes! Ugh, hate it! But I guess I can't let my kiddo's go out in public looking like a cross between Linus and Pig-Pen from Charlie Brown.
Speaking of Linus, both of my children tow around their silky blankets but Grant especially reminds me of Linus. He started out calling his favorite blankie "Blue" when in actuality the blanket was white. It was also very confusing because he had 2 silky blue blankies that were the substitutes for when "Blue" was in the wash or not to be found. Then one day, out of the blue (no pun intended!) Grant finally started calling the blanket "White"...Okay, progress. I could finally tell which blanket he was talking about. Not too long after he got his color coding down, his white-dar was on the fritz and he wasn't able to find his blankie when he needed it the most...bedtime. So he began to walk around the house calling, "Oh Mr. Whiiite, where are you?" and now to this day his blanket is deemed "Mr. White."

Audrey hasn't quite become attached to a blankie because we are constantly switching them on her, but the other day I found the cutest cream colored blanket with a chocolate brown silky backing. Too cute. I also bought her a sleep-n-play fleece outfit that is cream with chocolate brown cow spots on it. I'll have to get a pic of her with the two and post that another day.
I know this is random, but I just have to share some funny pictures of my children showing their personalities... Audrey has been making the funniest faces lately. She either crinkles up her nose and breathes in and like an angry bull or she is constantly sticking out her tounge. Now that she has both top and bottom teeth, I am wooried she is going to bite into her tounge. I think she may actually give Gene Simmons a run for his money by the looks of this picture!!!
Grant had fun "fiking" his hair and wearing his new "school shirt" the other day. (he's no the best at sying his S's yet so they still sound like F's...but he is able to say "Suck" pretty clearly so no worries about him replacing that S with an F if you know what I mean!!! He starts evening ECFE preschool next Monday. That should be an interesting night since he tells me he doesn't want to go to school. Oh no, it is already happening . And nothing like a little Macaroni & Cheese to go with that cheezy smile! I just can't seem to get a good smile out of him anymore. It must be a stage of over thinking the smile :) Meal times are always interesting when it comes to little Miss Audrey! She pretty much eats almos anything, and she is extremely good at making a complete mess of herself and anything within a 5 foot radius! Oh, and little Dolly Parton likes to "sing" or at least that is what she thinks she is doing. She pretty much yells, squeels and screams just to hear herself making noise. And as for Grant. If you haven't already noticed a theme...he prefers to cruise aound the house in his tighty whities for the better part of the day. I am willing to bet it is a learned behavior he has picked up from his father! Hey, what am I complaining about...that's less laundry for me!!!
Well, it is getting late and I better go crawl in bed and start counting sheep. It is way past my bed time, but this blogging is kind of addictive!
Blessings to all...Good night!

And let the blogging begin!

Since this is my first post, I am going to share a little about my family. I have two children, Grant who is 3 1/2 and Audrey who is 10 months old.
Our entire family refers to Audrey as "Tootie" and pretty much have since before she was born. It all started one day when Grant was at daycare. Our daycare provider asked Grant what his new baby's name was going to be and in true 2 year old fashion, he replied, "Tootie...Tootie Headie." Of course Teresa burst out into laughter and had to share the news with me. I found it quite humorous also, so the nickname stuck, especially since we didn't find out the sex of the child and I was sick of referring to the baby as "it" or "baby." In a way, Audrey also earned the nickname Tootie her first night in this crazy world. She basically cried the entire night due to gas pains (pretty much mother induced because I just happened to eat a huge burrito for lunch and then went into labor at midnight!) Around 3 am this god-sent nurse came into my hospital room and instantly conforted Audrey, and oddly enough the nurse's name was Audra. She offered to take Audrey down to the nursery for a couple of hours so I could get a little rest and I gladly accepted the offer. When she brought her back about 3 hours later, she told me that Audrey tooted the entire time and stunk up the nursery so badly that they rolled her basinett into the far corner! HA! I laughed so hard at that visual!!! Hence, the nickname "Tootie". And boy is she going to kill me when she reads this some day!!!
As for Grant, he has too many nicknames to possibly list and every time I call him something different, he finds in necessary to correct me and say, "I'm not ..., I am Grant Alan!" Yesss, SIR!
He is truely a great little kid. Pretty much every day when I go to bed, I think of a Grantism that makes my heart smile. I will begin to share some with you as the days go by. Today's happened when we were baking a batch of chocolate chip cookies. Of course he had to "help" which in 3 year old terms is stir the batter and eat spoonfuls every time I turn by back!!! Anyhoo, when the first batch of cookies was done and the timer went off, Grant came running and yelled, "I smell me somthin sweet!" That kid is too funny for me.
It rained this entire weekend and my little Mr. Busybody entertained himself by building a pillow road that he could walk on so that he wouldn't fall in the lava! He practiced balancing and running back and forth for over an hour. Hey, as long as he was having fun! He has now been zonked out on the couch since about 7:45 pm...pretty much a world record for him. The kid can usually stay up later than me.
Speaking of bed time. I'm usually a 10 o'clock kind of gal so it is about time for me to hit the hay. I'll work on posting more pictures very soon!
Nitey Nite!

Here are a few pictures of today's escapades to finish this post off...
