It has always been my experience that you usually can not count on latex balloons filled with helium to last more than a day or two so that is why I always buy then the day of. Well, I am known for not liking to be proved wrong, but that is exactly what I have been! This picture was taken on 3/27 - 12 days after they were inflated!

Oh, hold your britches! It gets better...the picture below was taken on 4/1. No we're at 17 days and counting!

By 4/5 we were sick of them "hanging out" on the kitchen/dining room area so they were relocated to the kids' bedroom. Notice, Mr. Happy Birthday Star is sinkin' pretty low but Sporty and Pinky are hangin' in there!
By 4/9 it's down to Sporty vs. Pinky. And the entire time I am thinking, 'How on Earth can a latex balloon even compete with a mylar???' And you are probably wondering if I have finally flipped my lid!
And then I awoke to this on 4/10 (am). Looks like Sporty is holding his ground...

But then when we got home I rushed to the bedroom to check how my new little "friends" were doing before the scene became disrupted by the two little tornadoes we call our children. To my utter surprise, Sporty started losing some steam by the afternoon of 4/10. And now the race is ON!
