Far too long

It has been far too long since I have updated. I am fully aware that in my last post, I promised not to wait another week and a half to update...and what did I do? Well, it wasn't a week and a half this time. It was 2 weeks and 2 days to be exact! Shame on me!!!

In my own defense, up until yesterday, I was a single Mom since Wed, Oct 7th as Duke was gone to Colorado on his annual Elk hunt. Sadly, out of 7 guys, they did not get even one elk. Duke was really bummed because this year was the first year he had been drawn to receive a bull license. This is the first year in the 6 years that they have been going that they have gotten skunked.

While the Mr. was gone, Mama had a grand ole' time with her girl friends and the kiddos. Last weekend I took a 4 day weekend and went down to the cities with 4 of my girlfriends from my home town and we shopped till we dropped in Albertville at the outlet mall and then went to the MOA to watch Tony & Tina's wedding. We had a blast! I will have to share some of those pictures in a later post. One of my infamous traditions while the hubby is gone hunting, is to repaint something. And repaint is what I did! But not before I stripped this out of date classy
wall paper. Trust me...it has been up far too long!

This is the kitchen before (I had already taken a few things out before I thought of taking "before" pictures and I wasn't about to put it all back so we'll just call this "before")

And are you ready?

Drum roll pleeeeeeeeeese!!!!

TA DA!

Introducing the all new olive green kitchen.

Okay, I want your honest opinion. What do you think? Do you like? Hate? So, so? Give it to me straight. I can take it.

All Duke said was..."What the?" I guess I'll take that. At least he didn't say "Take it down and put the old stuff back up!" like Grant predicted. Grant was convinced that we were going to be in trouble by Daddy for painting the kitchen so I told him that I would blame all of the painting on him. Grant disagreed and said that I did it all by myself so I reminded him that I had proof that is was he one who did the painting...

Now who you think Daddy's going to believe?????

Actually, I'll take the rap for it, but I for sure will not take all of the credit. My awesome friend and painting cohort, Stacie, helped me strip the wall paper above the cupboards and paint the first coat. Stacie, if you are reading...thanks a million! You are the best :)

Speaking of far too long...this post is getting far too long and there is something else that was far too long that I wanted to include, but it will have to wait until the next post cause it was a big milestone for my little Tootie.

Stay tuned...
