Hold on to your pants cause this is gonna be a long one!!!
So, as most of you know, Grant turned 5 last Monday. I know I have said it a million times, but how in the world did he grow up so fast?

For his party (we had it a day early) we invited family and a few close friends to join in on a Super Hero themed party. The star of the show was none other than the (in)famous 'Vit-a-min" aka Venom or The Black Spiderman. This was the costume Grant was suppose to be for
Halloween but he ended up being the red and blue Spidey.

Little sassy pants was donning an adorable (and equally as sassy) Bat Girl costume. The only problem is, she was playing her shy card and wouldn't get off of Grandma's lap or pull her hand out of her mouth for the first 20 min of the party.

Don't think we went without a red and blue Spidey in the house! This is my friend, Sheila's little boy, Nate. Not sure if you can tell from the picture, but he is a tiny little fella and he looked so stinkin' cute with that muscly costume on.

And if the above mentioned super heroes are not enough...Never fear! Super Man is here!!!

This is my cousin, Evan, who is only two weeks younger than Grant. He is the one who was racing snowmobiles
a few posts back. This kid cracks me up! He kept 'striking a pose' and not even knowing it! HA!

Grant's little friend, Peyton was also there. He was sportin' a red Power Rangers costume...muscles and all! If you were around last year you will remember him as the one who gave me the fat lip. You can read about that escapade
here! I think it is so funny that he and Grant are practically the same size and he is gonna be 6 in April! Crazy!

For some reason, I didn't capture any good pictures of just the girls in their costumes. Darn it! The kids did spend a good portion of the party huddled around the crane machine trying to win wasting our money trying to win prizes.

I finally coaxed Audrey out of hiding an managed to get a couple of semi-good pictures of her in her costume.

She wouldn't keep her mask on but she still looked cute-as-a-button!

We all enjoyed some yummy homemade Trobec's pizzas for lunch.

And I had to include this picture because I figured some of you 'city folk' may think it funny that we have 'Crow Shoots' around here! Yep, people go out and see who can shoot the most crows. Now that is what I call Redneck!

The next two are of our nephews, Bailey and Carter. They were too old and too cool to dress up as super heroes.

I don't ever want my kids to be too old to dress up as super heroes!

Their sister, Austin, wasn't above playing along for a little bit, though.

Here is a good picture of Sheila and Nate enjoying s0me quality mother-son time.

After we were done eating it was time for the BIG surprise!
All of a sudden, there was a *knock* *knock* at the door.

And in came the real 'Vit-a-min'!

The look of excitement on Grant's face was truly priceless!!

He was in complete shock & awe, but it only lasted for a couple of seconds.

As soon as Kyle (Peyton and Meghan's dad) uttered his first word, Grant knew it was him. Plus, Meghan recognized his shoes so he was unmasked within a matter of seconds!

It was still worth it to see that look on Mr. Granty's face :) Spidey also brought Grant a special gift...a Spiderman wii game!!! He was super pumped about that too!

Of course we had to try for a couple of group shots.

It came as no surprise to me that Audrey was not about to cooperate with the whole group picture thingy so what you saw was what you got of her!

I had to include an array of the group shots since it is funny to see the different poses the kids were breakin' down.

I love this one cause Grant was showing Kyle the right way to sling a web! That kid is just too funny!

Had to share one more pic of his awesome cake. I had them do a custom job and combine two designs into one cake. Grant was more excited about the fact that it had two toys on it!

Duke was just excited that I ended up getting the 1/2 sheet cake so he could eat left-over cake all week. He loves him some Cash Wise cake with whipped frosting!

We had so much fun celebrating the Punk's 5th Birthday and I think the super hero themed party was a hit! The only problem is now I have to try to top this next year! Wish me luck :)

I love all the pics! So funny that they recognized the 'real' super hero by his shoes, haha! Nothing gets by them! Too FUN! What an awesome birthday! I love all their costumes, adorable! I'm sure by next year you'll have some more incredible ideas! GREAT party!
ReplyDeleteThat party will be a fond memory for years to come!
ReplyDeleteHands down to you for putting on such a fun party for your boy! I'm sure he will remember this always...you're awesome Carrie!
ReplyDeleteSo cool, what a fun idea for a party! I love Grant's reaction when the surprise walked in and Audrey looked so adorable!! I never want my kids to be old enough to not want to dress up like super heros either. :)
